When you
start couponing you will notice there is lingo’s and what seem like secret
codes. It is all a system so that you know what coupons you will need and where
you can find them. This will make life so much easier than if you went to the
store wrote down all the sales then went home to see what coupons you had and
what you could get.
Let’s talk
about the different types of coupons:
Manufacturers Coupons – initial is MF – These are the
standard coupons that come in the Sunday paper and sometimes the mid-week
circular (comes in the mail) these you will notice are stackable with store
coupons and e-coupons
Printables – You will find these on coupon
websites or on the company’s websites there is a print limit of 2 but sometimes
they reset which should allow you to get two more. If you want more of these
you have to print from a separate browser or a separate location.
Store Coupons – These are the coupons that the store
offers. They can come in your weekly circular or they can be found on the
stores website. These are printable and can be stacked with MF coupons for
great savings.
E-Coupons – E-coupons are coupons that you find
on the stores website but are loaded directly onto your savers card or phone
number. These coupons can also be paired with MF coupons for great savings.
Catalina’s – Catalina’s
are a promotional coupon they print out at the end of your transaction on a
separate piece of paper and are good for your next trip. They tend to say thank
you from “such and such company” for your purchase of “this product” Catalina’s
can be paired as well and you can check Catalina sales to make sure you are
getting them.
Store Rewards – With stores
like CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid they offer their own rewards. At rite aid they
are called Up’s, CVS has the Extra Bucks or ECB’s and Walgreens has Register
Rewards. The stores will offer sales and when you buy x amount of this product
you will get 3 up’s/ECB’s/RR’s for your next purchase. So you might end up
paying more initially but those RR’s, ECB’s and Up’s really add up and are
great when you have a rainy day and need to get something. You can even use
your ECB’s/Up’s/RR’s to shop and earn more ECB’s/RR’s/Up’s. It is a never
ending earning potential with RR, ECB’s or Up’s. These will become your best
couponing friends. CVS also has a Kiosk in the store where you can scan your
Care Card and it will give you coupons to use. Keep scanning till it beeps and
tells you no more for the day.
Special
Programs – Some
stores offer extra rewards like Target or Kohls. At Target they have launched
the Cartwheel program. With the cartwheel program you have 5 spots initially.
In these 5 spots you can add percentages off items that you have target coupons
and MF coupons for this gives you 3 Ways to save!!! And it works. I got 4 pks
of the Schick razors for $.84 a pack that my friends is a stock up deal which I
did. Target also offers their Red Card. The Red Card used to be a credit card
only but now they offer a debit card! I got the debit card so I now get to take
off another 5% for each purchase. Kohls has their Kohls cash. Kohls cash
happens a few times a year. It will state that you spend x amount of dollars
and you get $10 back for your next purchase. They will also mail out coupons
for $10 off your purchase of $10 or more. This is how I got a kiddy pool for
free.
